The best thing about your romantic getaway is not having to cook!

Torrance is full of exemplary cuisine, showcasing all-American fare as well as delicious international cuisine. Ise-Shima, the Miyako Hotel Torrance restaurant serves traditional Japanese food fused with flavors of modern-day California. Share freshly made sushi, sashimi, and teriyaki in a romantic, contemporary setting.

The Torrance Bakery, which is a stone’s throw from the Miyako. offers delectable desserts, pastries, and cakes so you can surprise your loved one with their favorite sweet treat. Also within walking distance is Cauldron Ice Cream where you can sample unexpected flavors and cool down with a rose-shaped scoop!

Relax, unwind and rejuvenate

Couples can find their zen together at Relaken, the Miyako spa. Treatments include the signature hot stone spa (Gan Ban Yoku) which is a specialty of Japanese bathing culture. It works by lying upon heated stones in a sauna-like room. By heating your internal organs, your heart will, quite literally, glow. Other treatments at the Miyako spa include Swedish and Japanese style massages and facials.

Our special package includes a Gan Ban Yoku for two, so you can experience this unique technique.

Indoor activities in Torrance for couples

Torrance has plenty of cultural attractions to help couples explore the city at a slow pace. Browse the contemporary galleries of the Torrance Art Museum, which is free to the public. The exhibitions present topical themes and give visitors a chance to engage with California’s art scene – you will have plenty to chat about after.

For something cool and slightly different – check out the Western Museum of Flight which has numerous aircrafts on display. Only a short walk from the Miyako Hybrid Hotel is the Friends of Torrance Theatre Company where you can enjoy a date-night out on the town. Start the night with your complimentary sparkling cider when you book one of our romantic hotel packages.

Romantic things to do outdoors

The long, sandy stretch of Torrance Beach is a beautiful place to take a handheld romantic walk or catch some rays under the Californian sun before your dinner date at the Miyako Hotel restaurant. Admire the sweeping views of the coast together and bring a bottle of wine down to the sand to share as you catch one of Torrance’s beautiful sunsets.

Charles H. Wilson Park is another alternative for a picnic spot in the city center. if you visit on a Tuesday or Saturday morning you can pick up seasonal, local produce from the Torrance Farmer’s Market.
